Box Office Assistant

Full-time Exempt. Reports to Audience Development Director.

Position Overview: The Box Office Assistant is responsible for selling and processing ticket orders in an accurate, efficient and courteous manner to provide the highest level of customer service to our patrons. This position is also responsible for History Theatre’s Volunteer Program.  Employee must frequently exercise independent judgment, be reliable and highly organized, a self-starter, a team player and will thrive in a diverse, fast-paced environment.

Box Office and Customer Services - 75%

Sell and process tickets in an efficient and professional manner. Provide patrons a positive customer service experience at all times. Resolve problems for patrons in a friendly and professional manner within the context of History Theatre policies. Support Group Sales initiatives. Organization of all Will Call tickets for distribution to customers. Provide House Management support for morning matinees and fill evening shifts when needed.  Fill staff and board complimentary ticket requests and fulfill monthly requests for in-kind gifts. Handle cash and daily deposits. Respond by the end of the day to daily emails sent to the box office. Make and distribute actor guest passes for each run of show. Fill monthly In-Kind Gift requests

Theatre Space – 10% 

Ensure that the ambiance, appearance, and general condition of the box office, lobby and other patron accessible areas of the facilities reflect professional standards. Upkeep the house with proper cleanliness of space. Coordinate with marketing to ensure each show has proper amount of programs. Check that brochure areas are stocked and clean

Concessions - 10% 

Responsible for cleanliness and inventory of concessions. Review nightly cleaning list and prepare order lists

Miscellaneous - 5% 

Perform duties assigned during audience development activities. Cross train on duties throughout the Audience Services Department

This position is a full-time, exempt position; with a salary structure in the low to mid 20’s including a benefits package.
