Set One will feature songs from other artists featured in the Winter Dance Party of 1959: Frankie Sardo ("Dream Lover," "Fake Out"); Ritchie Valens ("Come on Let's Go," "Oh Donna," "La Bamba”); Dion ("I Wonder Why," "Teenager in Love," "Run Around Sue”); and Big Bopper ("White Lightning," "Chantilly Lace”).
Sonny Curtis of Buddy Holly's Crickets, who, along with drummer Jerry Allison, attended opening night of "Buddy! The Buddy Holly Story" in 2009, heartily endorsed the performance and musicianship by saying, "This is about as close to the real deal as y'all are going to get!"
