Live from New York! He's a Prom Date!

Saturday, May 11, 2pm; Sunday May 12 and Monday, May 13, 7:30pm  | History Theatre

Written and directed by Peter Simmons

In 1992, Jen Maren (Glensheen) was a budding actress fresh off her triumphant performance as Maria in the Red Wing High School's production of The Sound of Music.  Her mother Margo announces that Sally Jessy Rafael wants them to appear on her long running national TV talk show as a girl who couldn’t get a date to prom with her angry mother.  And off they went. This was the bus of humiliation Margo was delighted to toss her first born under. It’s a story Jen has extolled in dressing rooms, parties, bars about the lure of unearned fame, the sting of public embarrassment, and a lifelong investigation of the nature of the love she felt for the preposterous human being she was blessed to call mom. And yes. We have the tape!
